ANTALYA

Sometimes I feel like there is a big hole in the bottom of my travel list. The more wonderful places I cross off the list, the longer my list grows.

It’s undeniable that the world is filled with an abundance of breathtaking natural wonders, diverse cultures, and rich history. Even if one dedicated their entire lifetime to traveling, it would still be impossible to fully experience and discover all the wonders this planet has to offer.

From its mesmerizing natural treasures to its unique traditions, spiritual practices, and cultural diversity, not to mention the endless list of must-see places, activities, and cuisines.

The curiosity of exploring new places and being dazzled by the fact that there’s always more to learn and explore brought me to the gateway of Turkish Riviera, Antalya.

In my opinion, Antalya is a versatile holiday destination that caters to all types of travelers, whether you’re traveling with friends, family, love of your life, kids, or as a solo traveler. The city offers a perfect blend of relaxation, entertainment, and culture that appeals to all ages and groups.

No matter whether you plan vacation with friends, family, kids, love of your life or as a solo traveller, Antalya is the place that can offer beach, kids entertainment, relaxation, romance, party time, history and ancient culture to satisfy every age group.

If you’re a beach lover, I highly recommend staying at one of the resorts along Lara Beach. The all-inclusive packages offered by these resorts are worth the investment. There is chain of such resorts across LARA Beach stretching from highway towards the sea and have their own water parks, swimming pools, and amphitheaters.

They offer endless food and drinks, dance performances, and fireworks shows, throughout the night. The resorts also have platforms that extend into the sea for relaxing and sunbathing.

Priceless to wake up early morning take a dip in the pleasant ocean and just lay down on the sand of the “plage” letting the sunrise tickle your skin and warming up your muscles and bones to the water activities.

Exploring the Turquoise Coast of Antalya is best done by renting a car, as parking is easily available in most places. The best time to visit is during the summer, when the weather is perfect for sun tanning and water activities.

Old Antalya, also known as Kaleici, is a charming area with narrow cobbled streets, café restaurants, shops selling Turkish specialties, souvenirs and aroma rich spices. Huge, never seen such large variety of white bridal wear across the old town market.

The Yacht Harbour / Kaleici Marina, cruise trip recommended for families as well. My advice to you, is to not go with the first ride and offer. There are plenty of opportunities to negotiate for boat rides decorated in movies style, like Pirates of Caribbean and other unique decorations.

Once many- many years back, I attended a presentation about Turkish Riviera and nearby locations, which have been introduced as Unesco World Heritage treasures

One of the most fascinating places presented by pictures on that day was Pamukkale. Ancient city of Hierapolis founded around 2 B.C. Being in Antalya was the perfect opportunity to visit this ancient area.

Overall, Antalya is a place that offers a variety of activities, stunning beaches, and rich cultural heritage, making it a perfect vacation destination.

PAMUKKALE

We began our day with an early 3.5-hour bus ride to Pamukkale, also known as the Cotton Palace. Visitors can choose to travel to Pamukkale by car or bus, but it is recommended to book bus tickets in advance. (hotel can help you)

Our journey started by exploring the ancient city of Hierapolis, where we walked through the ruins of the Greco-Roman period, including baths, temples, arches, an Amphitheater, and grand monuments.

This led us to the breathtaking sight of the all-white carbonate mineral cliffs, where hot springs flow down creating a series of terraced waterfalls and pools. It was truly one of the most beautiful landscapes we had ever seen.

Next to the cliffs, we found the antique pool also known as Cleopatra’s beauty bath, where visitors could dip in the crystal blue warm natural mineral pool. Some ruins of a palace that had fallen into the pool were left as they were.

Feeling relaxed and rejuvenated, we walked down the cliff through the hot spring terraces, preparing for our journey back to Antalya’s Lara Beach and our flight back home the next day.

Happy memories are an irreplaceable gift, and our experience at Pamukkale will forever be cherished!
